Mission Statement:
The College of Health and Human Services at San Francisco State University is committed to the California State University’s mission of excellence in teaching, service and scholarship with special consideration of its role as a leader within a multi-racial, multi-cultural urban environment. The primary mission of the College is to educate individuals to serve the present and future needs of society in the professional fields associated with health, human and community services.
The College of Health and Human Services promotes increased awareness among individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities of their roles as active agents in shaping personal action, public policy and community life to enhance individual and collective well-being. The College of Health and Human Services, through its teaching, service and scholarship, promotes greater understanding of the complex, interacting physical, psychological, social, economic, political, and environmental factors which affect the performance and optimal functioning of individuals, families and communities throughout the life span.
