From March 23 to May 2, 2006, the Tall Ship Semester for Girls will travel over 2,000 nautical miles aboard the Spirit of Massachusetts. TSSG students will learn the skills to run the vessel, and will gradually take greater responsibility for the running of the ship. We begin our voyage in Puerto Rico and will make our first short passage to the island of Culebra, off the east coast of Puerto Rico. From there, we will head south to Monserrat and then on to Vieques. Next we will tack our way east to St. Eustatuis or Statia, an island that is part of the Netherland Antilles. From there, we will head west, with planned stops in Samana (Dominican Republic), San Salvador in the Bahamas and finally Charleston, South Carolina.
